The multihack step for cp_wordlets.cgi needs to be adjusted, seems that the spacing in the base code is a bit different

but my members complain about it

because the IM appear to them every time when they viewing my UBB

and they need to refresh the page to get rid of it

but in the last version of IM nobody complained

Since the Javascript is in the footer how long does it take for a user to get an IM that you've sent? Also, is there a setting where I can reset the refresh rate lower to say, 60 seconds?

In the IM instructions it states:

Where are the modifications for - ubb_lib_files.cgi and ubb_lib.cgi?

In Modification Settings in CP, there is 'Who can send IMs?' in the instant message part.

After 2-3 days of trying, the hack works fine. Except of some members complaining that the same message pops up everytime when they open a page. I guess this is a fault of the browsers they may be using since I've been trying the hack with IE6 and haven't seen any problem.

The only thing I'd like this hack to have, is "radio buttons for members". This way there can't be much abuse. For mods and admins I'd like it to be as it is, in cases they need to send the same message to more than one member.

P.S. I couldn't download the addon mod for cp

I could be wrong but I think if the users clear their Temp Internet Files and Cookies they won't get repeated messages.

Why are you unable to download the Addon Mod?

Even with the temp files cleared I have times where I get 10 or 20 of a particular message, and some of my members report the same thing.

Hmm...If that's the case then it's possible that it's an internal problem and not client error. I haven't experienced repeated messages fortunately.

I don't know, but I cannot open any page of multihack.com, seems I can't access that server, it automatically redirects me to auto.search.msn.com because the page cannot be displayed. Weird?

Hmm...I've been using Modaddon 1.0 which was made for UBB 6.2 for the past 3 upgraded versions (to 6.4). The instructions are in text. If you want that let me know.

It's realy a great hack LK :rolleyes: my members keep shouting they want it back

I had it before on 6.3 ... now I have upgraded to 6.5 .. I put the new hack & Opss I have a problem.. IM's keeps showing to all members even after clearing the cach!

I tried to figure out where is the problem ? but I didn't get it.. Would anybody please help me ?

I have it happen in IE6 sp1 and Opera 7.x

My members also have it happen in different browsers so it would be difficult for it to be a browser issue.

LK IM works on my board now ... It was my fault actually I put the above statement just as you wrote it .. not in one line ...

seems like having serious problems with my internet explorer5.5/6.0 on win98, both hacks to work fine now - except on MY pc which goes slow as soon as i browse a forum like my technoforum.de or even this bbs. while entering a text in the textfield the letters apprea like transferred with 300baud :-(

The javascript seems to collide with the PM notification I believe.

I'm not positive, but I don't believe that the PM notification script has changed since 6.5, and I believe people had it working on that. I'll give it a look once I can get the templates to work right

Hmmm, I never ran 6.5. I know that this hack causes systax errors to show up on all the board's pages.

I'll try it this weekend without using the CP, I'll give it a try and try to fix the javascript

Not including the cp, I've got it working fine with no errors. Didn't actually require any modification though :-/. All I did was move one line.

i have the modaddon and the megamoderator addon, but my megamoderators cant send any ims now, only admins and mods, what do I have to chnage ?

Can you think of any reason why this would send the IM to people 10 or more times? I had this problem before but it was rare and random, now it seems to happen all the time.

I can't recreate it, but there is one line in the code that makes me suspicious.

Is it possible that the browser security settings can affect this? In other words, can a cookie setting somehow prevent the browser from marking the message as *read* making it appear over and over?

Well, to test this odd-ball theory I added http://*.netwerkin.com to my trusted sites and I no longer get the red privacy report icon at the bottom of the browser page, I get the green checkmark. This is all obvious of course but the strange thing is that I do NOT get multiple IM's anymore.

Am I just imagining things or is it possible that this is a valid observation?

Well, it's nice to only be getting one. I found out that another member that was having the problem was using the back button after recieving an IM and then getting more.

Oh, lol, I believe you can copy & paste it from the 6.1 version or whatever and it'd work (maybe a little bit different because of 6.7's generic wrapper)... though now that you can customize time zones there is no reason to use it

Where exactly are these IMs supposed to appear? It says the IM has been sent but no1 has responded. I even tried IMing my friend who was over and logged in at his laptop and still nothing happened.

I installed everything correctly and it still doesn't work. I have 6.5... What happens is that it claims the IM has been sent but it never appears.

how do i get to set the popup window to its own style template??? it uses the standard one and I cant have it show all the banners and other stuff. Just want a simple barebones window popup

I don't believe there is a way to customize the popup as it's just a browser call asking what you want to do...
